What is a Service Top?

A Service Top is someone that is providing a service in the same way a top would during a "Pay for Play" scene only there is no financial recompense. Under this auspice the Top would provide the sub with whatever kinky activities the sub wants in the way that they want. Service Topping is most often done for educational purposes as in a demonstration and is done so that the sub gains experience and not necessarily for sexual arousal. In other cases the person topping has no desire to have their sexual / fetish related needs met by the bottom so it becomes rather clinical or with the intent for the bottom to get what they need. In most cases the term Service Top is used as a disparaging remark to denote a person that identifies as a dominant and yet allows the sub to dictate what will or will not happen in a scene. Many Service Tops tend to identify as dominants and either lack the courage, confidence or conviction in their selves / relationship and are reluctant to ask for, mandate, command, and demand or expect reciprocity in their scene.
