Does submission and obedience go hand in hand? Why or why not?

Does submission and obedience go hand in hand? Why or why not? There is a difference between submissive and obedient. I like to first use it in a sentence. " I have a submissive dog but she is a disobedient bitch." As you can see from the sentence Submissive is not contingent on obedience and Vice Versa.

Submissive behavior, as it pertains to D/s, means that a person will recognize authority, the judgement of those authorities, laws or rules put in-place by those authorities and submit to the corresponding punishments for the infraction of those laws by those authorities. But, that does not mean that they will obey the laws even though they will submit to the corresponding punishment. Submission in of its self is a cyclical process so the submissive will allow them selves to be disciplined. But, and here is the catch... only as much as they feel they deserve or according to the corresponding to the infraction.

The Obedient persons will follow orders to the the letter but, don't feel that they are subject to the authority, rules and there the corresponding punishments. This makes it hard to discipline the obedient because discipline, especially in the form of corporal punishment because it can cultivate resentment, feelings of inadequacy, and feelings of being abuse. The reason for this is that the strictly obedient don't normally feel that they are ever wrong and as such feel that they should not be disciplined.

Of course these are extreme personifications of Obidient and submissive personalites but understanding the difference is extremely important... especially when you are dealing with brats, daddies girls, S>A>M's, Alpha and Betatized sumissives, trauma sufferers, inferiority complexes, authority and trust issues etc...
